The vision of Parker Memorial Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship Committee is to provide leadership, guidance, and support through the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We carefully provide financial support to students who qualify. We strive to develop each student spiritual, morally, emotionally and socially as they embark on their journey.

 

GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS TO QUALIFY FOR THE PMMBC SCHOLARSHIP FUND

 

1.  3.0 grade-point average (GPA) with special consideration for dual enrollment and college prep classes. GPA may be lower, for tougher        classes and heavier workloads, but not lower than 2.75 GPA for their Senior year. Funding will be tiered,  starting at 2.75, 3.0, 3.25, 3.5            3.75 and 4.0!
2.  Must be an active member of PMMBC and also active in the Youth department.
3.  Must complete 200 hours of community service, with ten (10) of those hours being completed at PMMBC. Such as, cleanups,                        witnessing in the community, and participating in church activities other than regular church services.
4.  Must complete a 500-word essay on "Why Pursuing a Higher Education" is important to them due on May 31st.
5.  Must submit a copy of their transcripts and what colleges or universities they have applied: 2 year or 4 year schools are eligible.
6.  Must attend seminars that are set up by the Youth department and approved by the Pastor.
7.  It is highly recommended that when the students have completed college, that they give back to this program in the form of                          donations and become involved in the decision making process for this program.
